Why vaccinations are important for your Child?
Vaccines are important because they help protect us and those around us from preventable diseases How? By helping our bodies create immunity – which is the body’s way of preventing disease.
Childhood vaccinations are so important because young immune systems are more vulnerable to diseases and illnesses. If your child is exposed to a disease like measles for example, their immune system may not be strong enough to fight it off. Vaccines are made with disease antigens, which trigger your child’s immune system to produce antibodies and develop immunity – without getting sick.
How do vaccines work?
Vaccines make our body competent enough to produce immunity (antibodies) against germs without causing a disease (sickness) in them. This immunity helps us from getting the disease when we are exposed to the disease-causing germ. This permanent or longstanding response means that if someone is ever exposed to the actual disease, the antibodies are already in place and the body knows how to combat it and the person doesn't get sick.
In short, Vaccines work by preparing the body to fight illness.
When to take my Child for Vaccination?
You may wonder why your child needs vaccinations beginning so soon after birth. That’s where immunization schedules come in.
Immunization schedules for young children and adolescents are designed with kids’ young immune systems in mind, helping to protect them from preventable diseases as early and safely as possible.
The “schedule” tells you age-wise, which vaccines you need to give to your child. Lot of efforts are put in by the experts preparing these immunization schedules, considering various factors including the earliest age at which a particular vaccine is safe and effective. Often, in an Immunization schedule multiple vaccines are administered together to reduce the number of pricks and number of visits.
Is it time for your child’s next round of shots? Don’t delay.
We understand that It can be a bit difficult for you to watch your little one get vaccinated. But the pain and mild discomfort your child has to go through is well worth it. Getting your child vaccinated will help him or her fight diseases that can cause serious health problems. Vaccines not only protect your child from diseases but they also eliminate the communication of disease from one child to another to a great extent.
